“Make sure that my relatives Andronicus and Junia are honoured, for they were my fellow captives who bear the distinctive mark of being outstanding and well-known  apostles, and who were joined into the anointed one before me.” Romans 16:7

Junia was a 1st-century apostle (a leader, missionary, a teacher) highly regarded and complimented by the apostle Paul.

The consensus among most modern new testament scholars is that Junia was a woman. it seems as the bible was translated, her name was changed to Julius (a male name) therefore her work and her story were not recognised as hers.

Junia was a exceptional women who played a key role in establishing the early church. she was respected, she was listened to, she was qualified in her experience and service. we now want to recognise her role, we want to share her story and we want to continue in her example as women of change. we are all women on a mission, women in the world and women of the kingdom... women with a story to put to our name.
